Short Story Ideas and Creative Writing Prompts

Dariusz Sankowski. I love to write creative writing prompts. For over seven years, I have been coming up with new ideas every week for The Write Prompts. Here, I do the same, only these are all starter or "continue on" writing prompts. They are a great way to get the juices flowing when you do not know where to start.

They are what I would call the first line or in some cases, the first paragraph of a potential story or novel. You, the writer, simply write or type the prompt at the top of your page and continue writing with your own words until you finish the story. If you finish the thoughts listed below, you will have written short stories or novels, if you are so inspired.
